Not every ad on CL is a scam. Just have to do your diligence and check them out closely. What is the company?

Well at least the good thing he asked before he signed up. Instead of going bankrupt and lowering the rates for the rest of us. Its obvious he doesnt know about the business and he should inform him self alot more honestly. Good luck this is a hard business dont make it imposible with those low rates.

The only way I would buy fuel for a truck is if I owned the truck. Everybody else buys their own.

Well, if the unit got 10 mpg and fuel was $3.75 per gal(very optimistic figures for both) it would cost you 37.5 cents per mile for fuel .60-.375=22.5 cents per mile. 22.5cpm ×3000 mi per.wk=$675 a wk, but really, do you think you can get 10mpg? Or find fuel cheap enough for you to make any money at all? Is this a 1099 job where you track and pay your taxes, work men's comp, etc? THINK ABOUT IT..just sayin.

I come up with some different math. While what you posted is great if they only stay at one hotel a day per week.
A week of hotels is $350 (7 nights at $50 per night). If you find that price, here in tourist central it is $100 - $150 per night.

    --------------------------------

To the original poster? 60 cents a mile is slaves wages. The company is probably getting $1.25 a mile and wants to get a free ride on your tail. Try and ask the contact whom they are delivering trucks for. Then call the companies they haul for and ask "as a perspective buyer, how much to deliver the truck". I am sure that company will blow your mind and tell you something like $3 a mile. But that said company will only deal with other companies and not private individuals.

You might also want to look up the company that is offering you 60 cents a mile and see what their history is like. They may be in trouble already and getting you to drive for them will only screw up your license further.

I did drivaway many years ago when fuel was under a buck. Back then we were getting a min of 1.50 a mile for a single vehicle. 75cent for the second vehicle in a deck set. 37.5 cents for a third. 18.75 cents for that really rare 4th.

That is what I was getting at. No matter how you look at it, it is a bad deal. Well except for the guy "paying" you to deliver, darn good deal for him.
