Don't see how it could. If you fail the road test, you were never hired so you never worked for the company. They can only submit reports on their employees.

Should probably read Can instead of Do. I have seen posters post that just attending and leaving during orientation has showed up on a dac. So I would say it is possible. If you had an accident on a road test I would say it would likely show up on dac.

That's not what I heard. I was told that showing up for orientation counts as employment and has to be reported on our job history, regardless of whether we are paid for that orientation or not (which is no surprise, considering we're not paid for 75% of what we do anyway).

If orientation counts as employment, then the company can ding your DAC if you wreck their truck on the driving test.

That said, I failed my driving test at JB Hunt after driving for Carolina Cargo for several months and forgetting how to drive a stick (I'd never driven a stick outside of CDL school & Carolina Cargo had all automatics at that time), but I never heard a peep about it from any other carrier.

Ok, go to orientation, not get hired for any number of reasons, then go down to the unemployment office to file for benefits. They will contact said employer and i can with almost 100% surety say, they will deny you ever worked there.
A lot of companies will do drug screen, physical and road test before actually accepting you to orientation. Then you are paid a stipend for the duration of orientation. That would constitute employment. At that point they might send something to HireRight. I have never seen a report with that on it. Failed drug test, then yes.

First and foremost the company might not even use HireRight. Not all companies use DAC. Second, a road test is a job interview. If you don't pass you don't get hired therefore they can't put anything on your DAC. If they do you can dispute it and get it taken off. Don't sweat it.

I was told I. Orientation and it was stressed tbat we are not considered "hired" and considered employed until affer we get off. The trainers truck and assigned a truck... until then you are a student.. for those with prior experience and not going with a trainer still were not considered employed until assigned a truck..

That's a silly assumption, considering it requires 90 days of employment in most states to qualify for unemployment.

An employer can fire you after 89 days with no consequences whatsoever. I've had friends laid off after almost 3 months due to this time limit.
