I'd pop the gladhand lock off and toss it on the ground but I have no idea how to get that post out of the hole, and they have notices all over the place that anyone caught doing it will be prosecuted or charged or whatever. Just asked for the third daggone time. Im going to lose my professional bearing if I have to go back in there again. I'm sleepy, have an earache, and a nasty cold. I am not to be trifled with right now.

Jarhead, you should have told me about your cruise/jake issue. Its a $75 part and takes about 20 minutes to change if you take a smoke break.

    Jarhed1964 Thanks this.

Hey jarhead does the Jake's work when your cruise doesn't? If not its possibly your clutch switch which is located on the top of the clutch pedal attached to the firewall. Replacing it only requires removing 4 screws and pulling the whole pedal out of the firewall on engine side. Or you can rig it up like I did and bypass it altogether. Buy you a simple 3 prong switch at auto zone and hook the wires from harness side to it. Flip up to start truck and the other way for cruise and Jake's.

I like the way you think! I hate the way fl did the clutch switches. The switch for the cruise/jake should operate before you even get close to disengaging the clutch. Instead it doesnt do anything ubtul you get well past the disengage point. Result is gear grinding and over rev.

I have had to stick my toe behind the pedal and flick it up on Fl, and Volvo. It turned out to be just the switch sticking due to dust in both cases.

    jbizzle and Jarhed1964 Thank this.

Ya know, I never took note of that but Im guessing they did. As a matter of fact, the clutch didnt disengage the cruise but after reading Keith's post, I'm wondering if it would have had I punched it deeper. Only one thing: wouldnt that be considered a modification to the truck? Wouldnt Delbert climb up my keister for doing so?

See, I have managed to get myself down to about 55% on cruise control, but I'm one of those anal retentive idiots who thinks everything should work. Pay for it now, or pay for it when I give the truck back or upgrade. Either way, it should work when I need it.

Absolute truth! Besides that why doesnt it go off when you shut down the engine like every other truck and car I have ever driven? Why are FL engineers doing drugs and alcohol and not bothering to offer me any?
