I've been sitting home trying to find the money to head for the bakken. Now I'm hearing rumors that the rates and hours are dropping out there. Publicity bringing more applicants than before and rates dropping to accomodate.I can't afford to be chasing this money if this s the way it is trending. I will be leaving my family here and need those rates and hours to make this work.

That is the way all booms are. You better move if you want to make good money easily before the lawyers and wasted paycheck safety people show up. They are already all over TX. Don't know about ND.
Saw it happen in Iraq and Afghanistan. Designated smoking areas and other BS in a war zone. lol
Bunch of frac jobs in TX required coveralls instead of FR Carhartt clothing. Respirators even up wind of any dust. But other trades downwind not required to do same. Last straw was out on Shell job in Big Lake. Told us no matter where you were on lease road you could not step out of truck without all safety clothing on. 14 mile road and if you want to stop and pee out of site of any lizard much less well site and they require that??? Up yours. Then the money went down and I went home.
Try and find remote new area. New Mexico has some. OK,TX,WY. Don't be a sheep. Get ahead of the crowd. MIdland/Williston/S TX are old news now. When everyone else in on the same side of the ship always check out the other side.

Thank you driver. Good advice. Couldn't move sooner because I was tied into a job. Now that job going south thanks to our "resident" in DC, and not enough funds to chase the jobs. Guess I roam the internet in search of those new booms and see what will be going when I can move.

Good words. Im planning on quittin soon and gettin out of the oil business. These insurance companies can run this into the ground and ill be watching from another profession. To much politics and too many chiefs everywhere. More and more safety men , it seems they dont understand that a safety man does not make the company any $$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!! Anywho I dont wanna be rude when I say this but... when women are getting hired on left and right.... something is wrong.....b. hope I dont get bashed to death for that
