As I'm sure alot of you have read, I've been asking questions about numerous companies on here, trying to find the right fit and I'm just having a hard time picking one. I have three months experience five years ago, so I took a 50 hr refresher course last week and am ready to go, I just don't know where to go. I want to make a good choice though, my last experience was a nightmare. Everywhere I have applied seems to say they don't take a refresher, but Will take a school grad, of they don't hire students out of my area, or they don't hire students period. What companies would y'all suggest trying, I'm in a good area, right off of I-20. I was trying to get a good regional run sui I could be home with my wife more on weekends, but that doesn't seem to be working out so I'm looking at everything now. Any companies you can shoot my way I would appreciate it very much!
need help picking a company...

Check out Roehl. They have numerous home time options. I was just referred to them from someone on here as well. Emailed the company to get more info.

I've been hearing alot about them, I may give them a call tomorrow and get info

Give Sally at Abilene Motor Express out of Richmond, VA a call. Both Sally and Mike are straight shooters but Mike is not very personable. Call and ask for Sally or keep trying until she answers.

Maverick is running ads in Shreveport & they have a student program and home weekends.
Do a bunch of online applications & take what you can get. After 6-12 months experience you can go about anywhere you want. May have to make some hometime sacrifices in the beginning to get what you really want.
Conway has some type of student training program
Pepsi Beverages Company
Southern Refrigerated Transport-runs lots of I-10 & I-20 and has a training program.

Living in a truck means living out of a truckstop, Ouch! Sometimes I would drive by that last spot, go down the road and find a Big Parking area and crash for the night. Walmarts usually have one or two truckers parked along the side entrance where the deliveries are made. Walmart's have what you need, clean bathrooms and all the food you can imagine.
dennisroc and tangerineGT Thank this. -
Chinatown I tried to check SRT"s training program and could not find anything on their website, do you know where to get info on their training ? -
Found it...[h=1]Going to training at SRT...[/h]dennisroc Thanks this. -
Call 1-800-288-8102 for SRT and ask for the recriting dept....They have been approved to teach qualified students with no experience. They are a pretty good outfit. BTW, my other post was to give you a heads up about living out here on the road. Never rely on a truck stop to have parking after dark!
dennisroc Thanks this.
