230 bucks a week? Idk how that could be. I've personally never met anyone who made that little. I had q guy complain that he barely cleared 300 and I ask to see his check and he had two advances for 150 bucks!! Don't ask me how he pulled that off either. We don't do advances here unless your in training
Dragonfly619 Thanks this. -
Yeah I didn't take any of that $230 stuff that serious...not sure if he was disgruntled or what. Thanks for the input on the TV thing..would be kind of nice to get a truck with one of those antennae on.

OK Roehl drivers... SO as a wannabe/soon to be student (5/5/14) What are your thoughts on CB's? Im not nor do I ever want to be a super trucker. Nor do I care to listen to the super truckers out there as they really enjoy the sound of their own voices, I've a tendency to turn down the volume rather than be irritated beyond reason by the BS that spews out of their mouths especially at certain times of the day. I assume they cannot help themselves...LOL
But my question is, are they really necessary to have?
-
Handy but not necessary. However, in flatbed just about necessary. As many customers use them. Dry van not so much. But they are nice for getting traffic/crash info on the road. Past a rollover on I-77 a couple hours ago going up the hill just after the Loves. I think the wind blew him over. It was windy as hell.Dragonfly619 Thanks this.

I have seen plenty of bad wrecks, roll overs, etc... and yes the CB was handy to know what was going on and to re-route of possible. Be careful Bayle... Big winds are never fun.
-
Like Bayle said, CB's are nice for traffic and road info, some of the bigger distribution centers use them to contact the drivers. I wouldnt suggest spending a bunch of $$ on a CB (Unless youre into that CB stuff). I purchad a 40 CH AM radio at Wallyworld for $34.00 does the trick!

So can someone tell me what they actually do when someone is "testing out"? I have an idea but would just like to have it verified...Thanks.
