What is the product? If it a pallet of tv's, sell on ebay. If it food, google a nearby food pantry. If its worthless, just find a big dumpster.

When I had my detailing business, drivers who knew us would ask if we wanted what they had refused. Others would get on the cb asking for locals to find somewhere to donate it (was mainly food from HEB). Only time I knew of anyone selling product was a guy with several cases of MREs. He made a killing @ $10 a pop. You could even ask someone working at the truck stop if they know anywhere.

Had a driver that had 15 pallets of salad mix get refused. We called a local shelter we knew of. They sent a couple trucks over to get some. When they saw how much was there they called a couple others to help get it. In the end 4 shelters and a food pantry received the stuff and the driver never had to lift a finger to unload it.

Depends what it is.If its something ppl really don't want or can't use, then I would tell my company to find a place and i'll sit here till you do.

I didn't have a CB so Id walk around the truck stop and tell everyone what I had and were I was parked.

    bunch of suspicious people, truckers.

It only took one guy to show up and grab a handful of stuff and walk off to his truck before anyone else would come out. Oh, then they'd come running.

For the most part they're grateful.

After that, you get complainers that the first few guys "took all the good stuff" or "why couldn't they have rejected" such and such.

Some people just can't be happy, even when its free!

I delivered a load of starch once and the very last pallet had a broken bag the customer rejected the entire pallet. My company told me to find a dumpster.I told them no.Those were 100lb bags and I was going home. Was'nt going to spend the day trying to find a place to toss it and bust my back. The shipper did this, they knew the bag was busted and they not only loaded it at the nose buried so I wouldn't have rejected it but they scotch taped it.Thats another reason why I refused to even try.Sat there for a few hrs finally the receiver did end up taking it.

Pulled a full load of bone in porterhouse steaks to Baltimore once, had a fork driver pierce the side of 6 boxes so the received refused them. My company couldn't get rid of them, and this was perfectly good meat no less...sealed on bags with absolutely nothing wrong with them...

so I called a food bank, this was around Christmas and donated 600 lb's of porterhouse steaks. someone had a good Christmas!

I pull reefer and sometimes but not very often end up with a pallet or so of extra. I look up the local food bank and they're always glad to have it. If its GM freight Ill give it to a local charity.
