I have never driven an auto in a big truck but have pulled tanks for years. Would an autoshift work for bulk liquid tank? Anyone with experience on this please let me know.

ya, 2013 Mack Pinnacle w/ m12 auto shift, Have no real complaints. Just starting out loaded on a hill is a little bit of an adjustment to get used to, It seems like the brakes release is a little delayed

    nightgunner Thanks this.

Cool thanks. I found an '07 Pete for sale with the Autoshift. The price seemed decent for the year so it peaked my interest,

Have the same truck....hauling fuel.....you can get rid of that brake off delay by pushing a button on the dash.

There is a specific button on the dash.....cant remember what is written on it but it disables that brake release drag if on a grade.

Not a tanker, but I can only assume that the surge on a smooth bore during the gigantic jolt forward on a downshift would be enough to possibly ruin a day. Got a big Mack in the fleet running an Alison auto when it shifts- feels like the ground rising up and shaking.
Imagine trying to shift from 3 to 4'th on a steep ramp in the NE with an auto could easily be enough to cause serious problems.
