Well... it looks like JB Hunt is willing to take me for their Orchard Supply Hardware account. It only runs CA and OR and requires driver to tailgate but that's good enough for me. I read somewhere on this forum that this might end up as being bait and when I get to orientation the position will disappear! Anyone have some thoughts on this or experience with the account?
Thanks in advance!![]()
Not sure...

The only place where I heard of the JB bait'n switch is here in the forums and no place else. So take it for what it's worth.
ewill71 Thanks this. -
I just did orientation with them a few weeks back. On your first day you shoukd get a sheet of paper with your name, investigator and what your position is (dcs, intermodal, etc).
-
Don't guess and be sure. Wait for day one and the paper or hunt ( pun intended ) down an Orchard driver and ask.......bait and switch is very common in trucking.
Good luck -
you have nothing to worry about , they say your being hired for that account your good. They might offer you some other position if you want to take it, but if your hired for that orchard account that is yours unless you decide the other offer is better....Don't sweat the haters on here, they just either work for other companies or just hate their lives.
Ebola Guy Thanks this. -
Well I will tell you this and its from experience if jb hunt tells you the positiin is not open settle for something else until an ipening comes up and you take the alternate option you just killed yourself cause they will not let you switch si my best advise is if for some strange reason the position is not available tell them to send you back home and you will find out the postion will magically reopen ...take it for what its worth ....good luck

if he gets hired for a specific DCS account, that will be the final results, if JB has accounts open on other accounts they will offer other accounts to drivers but the drivers can say no...they cant force you to take a different account. If they try then I wouldn't leave until I talk to more bosses.

i work intermodal in charlotte,nc for jb hunt. when i went to orientation in atlanta they told me i'd be making 35cpm but when i got back to my terminal in charlotte i was told by the terminal manager that i'd be making 30 cpm. that's bothered me every since i started.
-
wth? That'd bother me too. A lot. Either you were given wrong or bad information or were lied to. Regardless, you need to go over your terminal manager's head and get a straight answer. I wouldn't tolerate a pay cut like that one bit.
-
well, this past january was a year now, i got a penny raise so now i'm at 31 cpm. weeewhoo. i guess it's my own fault for sticking around, when there's so much more in trucking.
