Got my 2 drops off today in Tigard and Salem Oregon. The roads in Wyoming finally opened up at 9am local time yesterday, as soon as word spread, I went into the truck stop and sat down for breakfast. I learned a long time ago that I don't need to be around a stampede of wild truck drivers all making a mad dash across Wyoming. About an hour after the roads opened we left. It was a little messy from Cheyenne to Laramie, and then across Elk Mountain. Once I passed Walcott Junction the roads were nice and dry. We stopped for fuel in Wamsutter where I ended my clock and Tim started his. We left Cheyenne with 1180 miles to our first drop. Tim drove his full shift, and ended his day at the P.O.E in Oregon. I took over at 1am and made it to Stanfield Or, took a 2 hour nap, then got to our first drop an hour early. We were done at 10 am in Tigard then drove down to Salem for the second drop. That went to a residence and it was quite comical putting this truck in a residential area. The drop only took us a half hour.
My clock ran out as we were finishing in Salem. Tim took over and drove up to the Pilot in Ferndale Washington at the 262 mile marker. I'm leaving here at 3am local time to cross the border, clear customs and make my drop in downtown Vancouver. Tim is going to wait for me in the truck stop, I should be back by 10am. I told him if he wants, to get a motel room across the street and hang out there, he said it would be alright as long as they had coffee. I left him $75 just in case he changed his mind. Right now it's time for bed. God Bless and be safe all.
