Sugar cookie? I knew you were attracted to me! The way you were eyeballing me in Fontana. This aint a Med-float, squid!
FREAK!!!
In other news, this is a very interesting load. Even though I'm supposed to be home on Thursday, I almost want to complete all four stops just to see how it turns out. Very light now that I dropped 21 pallets in Dallas. Filled up in Tyler, and over in Alabama, 7.84mpg. This is a 2012 with 411k + miles on it. I'm not a '12 hater anymore. But still would prefer a more durable Volvo.
BTW Keither Sufferland, this Loves you advised me about sux. The wifi is a joke. I can barely stay on long enough to insult you before it disconnects. -
Nice... looks like ATBS jacked up my balance sheet. And how are they missing that much stuff on my P&L? I'm gonna call and read that chick the riot act tomorrow.
....unless I decide to get creepy Navy style and find her home number and start calling and hanging up at 3am -
I think next time I am home, I am going to treat the family to some calamari.
Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -
Need to make some adjustments to your figures there. DEF is anywhere from $2.69 - $2.79/gallon, with most places being $2.69. $300.00/per month is way too much. I've used a total of just over 194 gallons since Jan 01 @ $2.699/gallon is only just over $524.00.....for 3 1/2 months or approx. $150.00/month.
As far as the In-Cab Scanner, I personally think that is a total waste of money, both in the cost of the scanner and the cost/scan. I average 100 trips/ year here and if I would have scanned those trips, I would have wasted $600.00 per year!! Trip Pak is FREE! Use it and save the money.
What most operators don't understand with the variable lease is that it DOES NOT MATTER if you turn in 2500 miles/week for 4 weeks or 10000 miles at one time, the amount you take home is EXACTLY THE SAME. I constantly hear excuses about having to late trip and/or scan a trip because they need that trip on next week's settlement because they didn't get a lot of miles thru the cutoff day. So what? Your truck payment is tied to the miles you turn in. If you only have 1200 miles for that week, you only get charged 1200 x $0.xx (whatever your truck rate is). That means a lower deduction that week. If you scan that trip after cutoff, you just lost $6.00 and increased your truck payment by the amount of miles of that scanned trip. If you don't get it this week, you'll get it next week. It all balances out. Now I understand some drivers want to pay off their truck so they turn in as many miles as they can. Me, personally, I have NO DESIRE to pay this truck off. I'm perfectly content paying the weekly "rental" and bring home my money.
You can make a paycheck with low miles. These are actual weeks for me in the past 2 months.
1054 miles - $768 take home
1661 miles - $631 take home
2141 miles - $1143 take home
AVERAGE/ WEEK: 1618 MILES - $847 TAKE HOME
Larger mile trips:
3722 miles - $924 take home
3483 miles - $1167 take home
3973 miles - $1681 take home
AVERAGE/ WEEK: 3726 MILES - $1257 TAKE HOME
Of course you make more with more miles, but the point I'm trying to make is that turning in more than 2.33 x as many miles only yields a $400 difference.
WORK SMARTER.....NOT HARDERtallinthesaddle4life, jbizzle and 88 Alpha Thank this. -

Just so everyone knows. Sugar Cookie is a Parris Island term for boots. They like to roll around in sand pits after they get real sweaty. The rest of us prefer showers but I dont think anyone has ever accused a marine of being smart.
Keither Sutherland? Did I get insulted by a short ninja turtle? -
Now that is the most useful breakdown I have seen to date. Good stuff. As far as the DEF like I said I have never used it but pulled the data from online and they said a tank last approximately 5000-6000 miles. But if you are getting 3 1/2 months for 150.00 then that's great to know. Thanks for the data.
