Ok ....so I left my computer on, walked into the living room to watch the news ....and fell asleep! It is exhausting having teenagers.....that's my excuse and I am sticking to it!

 

I do ok here but I made way more money on a lease at other companies. They paid the extras like detention, layover and for their mistakes. Here I pay for my mistakes and everyone elses. Cranky is right that it is very hard to begin here on a lease. I would stick it out but if you do the numbers you pay for full value of this truck and then when it is done they ask you to pay for fair market value. Its like paying twice for the truck. There are companies out here that ask for a dollar when you finish the lease and hand you the title. Now that is fair. You have to remember these guys are usually getting at least twice what they are paying us so they are making all kinds of money plus Darren told me that Johnny(I think that is the owners name) owns part of the KW that sells Trans Am these trucks. This guy is making money every which way.

Honeybadger I am surprised your prepass is still working mine doesnt make a sound or light up anymore.

This company will revamp the way it does business with drivers in the next 2-3 years or they wont survive. Their safety rating is one of the worst in this industry and that is why we deadhead so many miles to get loads. It is very unusual for a reefer company not to do chocolate, fruit, vegetables or plants. I never heard of a drop dead time for the other companies I drove for or a meathole(LOL), that one made me laugh the first time I heard that. Most companies just mark the trailer for Ca. but I guess that is to complicated when you do not have a real training program.

jaso, you had experience coming into TransAm ....and you, Pete, honeybadger and kirk work/worked extremely hard for them. It shouldn't be so hard to do ok ...and that's if everything runs smoothly. When I was looking for Pete's copy of his settlement last night I just went back to last fall. I started noticing all of the people that we hadn't heard from in months and those that we knew had quit. It was shocking and sad.

I have a question ...since we were company I don't know this ..... you all pay a weekly fee for the prepass. If it isn't working do you still have it coming out of your pay?

Do not worry, you are SO not alone...my computer stays on 24/7, with tabs open and all so I do every night lol.

 

Stupid 0100 to 0500 rule, is preventing me from pencil whipping a reset in. Don't mind the break, after the week i've had, just wish I could make it useful at the same time.

Just so that there is no misunderstanding, I don't do 3900 every week. Do average 3100 or so.
