Pedestrian killed by truck near Loves and Petro (Bordentown NJ)

Poor sap probably was a truck driver parked in the Petro, and really wanted a Frosty from the Wendy's inside Loves. Done that a few times myself.

 

I don't know about you but I'm on my toes in the vicinity of a truck stop. How can one walk right in front of a truck? Even if there was a red light and cross walk I would make sure the vehicle was stopping.

Maybe they were texting and walking or suicide by truck? The truck stop might have it in the background video.

One thing I know is that driver and a family is traumatized. Hopefully the driver had his ducks in a row.

 

I live in St. Louis City. There is a 6 lane busy road that people cross where they want when they want. I have seen more accidents because a motorist was trying to avoid people that stroll across the street. They are on their cell phones, sometimes pushing strollers with babies in them, and they just don't look. They step out into traffic and FULLY expect people to stop for them. I have seen some young guys and gals playing chicken with the cars at night. The area isn't lit as well as it could be and these young people are usually dress in dark clothing. There have been a number of people struck by vars and seriously injured. The object of the game is to get some money. Hard to spend if you're dead. I don't mean any disrespect to the guy that was killed but people do this on a dare. Who knows why he was there, he can't tell us. I know the truck driver has to be feeling overwhelmed right now. He is human and has feelings. Really sad story to hear. Peace be with everyone.

 

I remember when that was the sandman and boardentown TS and it was a mess around that time. traffic has always been bad around there. But to be stan ding in the middle of an intersection at night dressed in black??? really???

 

I've encouraged pan handlers to lie down in the highway at night, but I ain't been to Joisey lately

 

I would rather pay for safe place to park ( never had any issues at petro) than to park at loves/ pilot where there is no safe atmosphere.

 

Not sure if you have ever walked around a truck stop while trying to get some exercise but if you have you'll see the ignorance and lack of attention that a lot of drivers have when it comes to someone walking... Cant tell you have many times I've been close to being ran over by a driver not paying attention or just simply to ignorant and in a hurry ( While in 5th gear in the lot ) to give a flying F....
