The Garmins at least show RR trax on the map. You don't know if there is a bridge going over or under though, or if it's a grade crossing.

Plus you gotta be zoomed in so much, you might as well look out your window.

An audible RR beep sounds like a good idea. I've had one or two surprise crossings I would've liked a heads-up for (yes, we stopped). I'd also love to see a GPS that gives you a scale house beep and routing options specific to HM/HC restrictions (including HM type restrictions and time-of-day shut-outs) so you don't accidentally route yourself into a ticket.
Corkyf62 Thanks this. -
Mine shows RR trax at the default zoom of .3 mile (above 50 MPH) which is zoomed out plenty IMO. I use the auto-zoom funtion which works pretty well IMO, based on speed.

It is useful to ask -- many bridges/tunnels exclude only certain classes of hazmat.25(2)+2 Thanks this.

Type is important. There are restrictions in the Map Databases for certain types of HazMat. You will get routed differently if you carry explosives versus Flammable.Corkyf62 and Criminey Jade Thank this.

Yup. US25E in Tennessee restricts class 1 for the tunnel. All others are ok. Other tunnels have different restrictions. They vary by state and each individual tunnel.

Yep! It is easy to forget if you don't haul it often. The audio alert on the GPS would be a good idea.

Let a cop see you run a track without stopping just one time. Youll never forget again. Youd probably stop in your POV after that fine.... up to $10,000 dollars and (I think) 6 months suspended license for first offense.
