Stay behind him for so long he'll get paranoid that he is being followed. Lol

I idle my truck at 1200 RPM all day long, oh wait I pull a pneumatic.

When I drove OTR I was comfortable I don't drive a truck because I care what someone else thinks. I've never had an APU or bunk heater, not gonna get one either. I've bought fuel for a 425 mechanical cat to idle all night, even C15's. When I start my truck Sunday night/Monday morning, it's not gonna get switched off until Friday afternoon.

I drove the same place for years we all left Sunday after 3 and home Friday before 4. Not bad.

I'm wondering which trucks still use a full 1 gallon per hour on long idle.

Every truck I've been in, in the past 3 years, has used about .5 gph.
.7 if the A/C was running.

    Numb Thanks this.

That wouldn't help the "no idle police" agenda to bring up such things. These poor boys can't get a raise because of truck idling,,,blah blah....Burning $30 of fuel sleeping comfortably at night in a $200,000 rig with average weekly fuel cost of over $2000 will kill all the profits...LOL
The benefits and savings created by using and APU are easily offset by the cost, maintenance and sheer aggravation in using one.

The only time I ever minded sleeping next to someone idling is when it was a guy with a 71 series Detroit, and had flappers on the stacks...

Quite amusing to read all the complaints about the guy next door with his air dryer cycling. Maybe if he'd use a bunk heater that wouldn't happen
