Why feel weird??? Go in with a good book and don't worry about what all the yuppies think. Most if them could care less what you drive or wear anyway. If your worried about dining alone in those kind of places eat at the bar just don't drink.

The Hilltop travel center in Alma, AR just North East of Ft. Smith on 540 is worth the getting off the beaten path which I hate, but they have an awesome deli with BBQ and everything else. Lots of truck parking as well. Ya'll stop by now ya hear.

I just finished training, and my trainer introduced me to a restaurant called Lambert's in Sikeston, Missouri. I will make it a point to stop here every time I am in the area. It was just fantastic. I think they have 1-2 other locations as well, not sure where though.

If you're ever in NC and running on Business loop 85 ( the old I-85 ) exit 86 Belmont rd. Bill's....small truck stop , not the prettiest place around , been there forever. But the best hot-roast-beef sandwich with mashed potatoes in the world....Salisbury steak ain't bad either.
