Besides, there can be only one quitter on this site and that is me. I quit because I could, my wife got a job and I have a BS in Electrical Engineering plus about 30 years of experience in that field, so I had something to ball back on but usually if you have nothing to fall back on quitting is a bad idea.
Some of the instructors at my truck driving school behaved kind of like you (the op) are describing. If you realize you are not in the Army, you can kind of just laugh at it, I mean really what can they do to you? And you know what, their attitude made it real easy to pass the brake, truck inspection, and drive test at the DMV. AFter being scared to death of those guys the DMV was like a vacation. It was around Christmas time when I graduated, so I went out and spent $125 of Starbuck gift cards and gave them all one in gratitude.... I appreciated what they did for me even though at the time I was not happy. You might not know it but there could be a method to their madness.
