$3.779 a gallon in Burns, Wy.
I put my fuel info into Lets Truck website and found out my 30 day avg is 6.74mpg and 60 day avg is 6.66mpg. Before that I was doing the math by hand and was off by 0.3mpg.
With that in mind, I have a plan try and lower my fuel costs. I also will be ordering wheel covers this payday now that I have solid numbers without them.

Happy Easter to me........while doing my pretrip this morning, I discovered that I have a drive tire that is losing air. Guess I'll limp over to the shop and get it checked out.
-
What did you guys do with that Jar-Head... Musta put him away in a padded room with some serious couch time..
One day he will figure out where the name Marine came from thanks to his Big Brothers in the NAVY...
this thread does seem quite tame without his two cents thrown in from his funny delusions... -
Swapping this load out in Denver. Another driver needing to get home.
-
Yeah it does get mellow when he's not around. Well after over 24 hrs of waiting I finally was able to leave those slow shippers behind for this trip. Made it out to Kingman and shut it down.

Jarhead is on hometime. He was missing his security blanket.
I'm getting fed up with silly crap coming out of Sapulpa. Started out with getting a "relay" last week while im in the middle of a 34 under load. Problem was I was left hanging when they couldnt find anyone to pass the relay to. Left me with a short day when delivery was rescheduled. Then the day I did deliver I ended with a whopping 48 paid moles and an empty trailer. So how do I recover... oh goody, haul to Maine with a short clock. Nothing like running the Die-95 corridor on a friday afternoon with no wiggle room on the clock. But wait, we can do better, drop that at walmart sat morning then run 490 miles to Souderton PA on Saturday afternoon. Guess who ran out of clock about 50 miles short... Anyone whos ever driven the NE would have seen that coming, that pretty much eliminates anyone in Sapulpa. They seemed shocked. Now I'm parked on 85 outside Charlotte with two stops tomorrow?, Atlanta and Oxford, AL. When I get empty I'll be under an hour my 70 and a total of 10 hours to recover for Tues and Wed. Time for that 34.
Other than that its been a good week. Averaging 7+ since getting my fan issue fixed. Finally got to take a big truck across the Chesapeake Bay bridge tunnel... it was either that or deal with DC and Baltimore on a Thurs afternoon
I'd rather walk through glass! Added two more states to my trucking list, New Hampshire and Maine. That leaves me with only Minnesota, Montana, and the Dakotas to complete the lower 48. -
Happy Easter to us!
Got rid of that nasty 3 dropper in LA and picked up another nice jog to Fort Worth with enough time on the clock to be able to stop for naps & still arrive early enough to drop in the yard. Great deal, since these first gen '14 Freight shakers make it nearly impossible to get any rest while the truck is rolling.
Took it to the shop to get it looked at, and they didn't bother pulling it in the bay. They said all the "old 14s" have crap suspension & that I'd be better off in an older truck than this rattle trap. -
-
Stilr, that sounds like a mechanics cop-out. How many miles on that 14?
-
My 14 rides like a log wagon as well. Don't have 88k on it yet. I am not really impressed in this truck over all.
Stile Thanks this.
