If you do a 160 hour course they will hire you assuming you have clear background. They won't pay upfront for your school however.
Rollr4872 and littleduck Thank this. -
So that means as long as I go to school they will hire me cause I really cant be with out a job and I have nothing on my background and only thing on ny driving record is a seat belt ticket from 2 or 3 years ago sorry for all the questions im just trying to figure out what to do I been stressing over trying to find a good company for sometime now and trying to get some real world info

I have been with Melton for just about a year. I have run everywhere. I spend alot of time around the midwest, but lately have been starting to run out west alot. In the last year I have been to every state and have not picked up at the same shipper. Except western Extrusions and in CA when coming off home time.slipperysnake Thanks this.

Hey littleduck
I went to school at Roadmaster in CA. When i was about ready to take the dmv test, i applied to many companies looking for a 'pre hire'. All of them called me back with a 'yes you get your CDL and call us and we will set you up for orientation.'
Do not stress. Go to school on your own, like i did. My license was suspended for 2 years because I had a failure to appear and a failure to pay 6 years ago. I got it cleared up in 2010. I have a clean background and 1 moving violation in 2010. All these companies said they would hire me based on the fact my background was clean and i only had 1 ticket in the past 4 years. Most i applied to only cared about tickets in the past 3-5 years. If you only have 1, they will look past it. Yours is minor, as long as its paid off you shouldnt have a problem getting hired.
I found Melton after i had taken my test. I was going to go to a different company, but last minute i checked out a few more and changed my mind.
Hope it helps -
Thanks bnrobot i was looking at prime but I had saw ur post on here and found alot of good stuff on melton so I think Ima gobto school on my own instead of company paid and try for melton I have already sent the recruiters a email to see what they say about the pre hire but thanks again maybe ill see ya out there in the next few months

Hey guys do the trucks have inward facing cams? Thought I heard somebody mention something about them. Thanks for any input
-
Some do and some don't. If you have some safety issues (a number of hard breaks, etc.) then you may get one. Haven't heard whether all new trucks get them or just a certain % of the fleet. You can always ask for one.....
Rollr4872 Thanks this. -
Hahaha I could but......

This is informative!
