Calling dispatch here is usless I was on hold for 5 hours yesterday my computer was froze. Finally I gave up and just reset it myself. They said we could only turn off if they told us or we be fired but how can u tell me if u dont anwser the stupid phone. So after I went to texas by mistake and turned around I figured I really had no choice but to make a choice. If u call hit number for recruiting they always anwser lol I called them when I was lost once my first week.

You can reset these units they won't fire you unless you try to move and make some miles with the units shut off. ABS trailer lights are no big deal. It seems to me about 30-50% of the trailers here have an issue with that. I roll even without cutting the wire the trailer will stop and have never been flagged for ABS on a trailer. Remember those payments are due whether you are rolling or not. I do not get things done for free for a million dollar company. I have 29 level 1-3 inspections and have never been hit on ABS trailer lights and also no log book violations with paperlogs.
Hope everyone had a happy easter
honeybadger I hope you get that load there in time and tell them to stick it
Be safe out thereHometimeQueen, krazyhorsechick and Road_Kill Thank this. -
Happy Easter, Happy Songkran HTQ

Everything is fine here. I will be back on the road with TransAm sometime in the first half of June. In the meantime, Ms. Passport and I are touring Thailand. Will be back in the Philippines later next month.
I continue to check in on the board here and wish all the new drivers good luck!
Some pics of Songkran 2014 - Thailand festival. It has a deeper traditional meaning, but it is also a good excuse for a good water fight!
Daytrip trip to Koh Larn - A small island in the Gulf of Thailand about two hours from Bangkok:
HometimeQueen and jaso36 Thank this. -
KH, I think you have the right instinct to stop and check out what is going on with a warning light but I agree with the other drivers. I regularly drove with an ABS lights on. I cut the light once when I figured I would be rolling though a bunch of open weigh stations but otherwise, unless I was passing through Olathe or Rockwall, I just left it alone.
I shut off and restarted my Traq unit on my first solo trip. Did it about once every 10 days or so after due to performance problems. As long as you have no nefarious intentions the "you could be fired if you shut the unit off" really does not apply.
I agree the TransAm phone system is ridiculous. I recommend you ask your DM for an email address to keep on hand. I have contacted my DM by email when my Traq went down and normal reset did not work. I have also emailed copies of BOL when no fax machine is around.

Daytrip to Khao Kheow Open Zoo - Called an "open zoo" as when possible the animals are kept out in the open. Visitors can walk right up and feed them (approved foods that visitors buy to help support the zoo).
jaso36 Thanks this. -
Fantastic pictures, passport! It looks as if you are having a grand time. And did you participate in the water battle?

It looked like fun!
jaso, are you still planning on giving your notice?
Pete, sending good thoughts your way today. I hope all goes well with the doctors appointments.
It looks as if there may be some severe thunderstorms around Wednesday and Thursday. Kansas and Nebraska are supposed to get the worst of it but will keep you posted.passport220 Thanks this. -
Your 3-week Weather Outlook:
WEEK 1 - The warmer weather early this week will give way to more cooler than average temperatures across the Midwest and Northeast. Overall the week trends warmer than last year and slightly above average for the U.S. overall. Rainfall is the 3rd least in 25 years despite the wet weather and potential Severe weather in the Central U.S.
WEEK 2 -Next week the warm weather remains out West while the Eastern half of the U.S. continues on the cool side. Nationally it's the coolest last week of April in 3 years and driest in 9 years.
WEEK 3 - Warm South but continued cool across the Northern tier of the U.S. Overall it's the coolest start to May in 4 years and driest in 3 years.
Want some really long range trends - how about the coolest Summer in 5 years for the U.S. overall and Winter 2014-2015 will be a moderate El Nino winter which we expect to be quite mild (warm) for the Northern half of the U.S. with much below average snowfall in the Midwest, Great Lakes and Northeast. California and the Deep South get some much needed drought relief during the Winter. Happy Monday! - Capt Kirk out.

Well had my first accident today down on the tight roads if Newark nj. Hit and old fire hydrant they don't use anymore and knocked some of the skirting off the trailer. I'm starting to think maybe this isn't for me. New Jersey traffic is horrible and i came close to quitting today. All my DM said was that if I leased i could of rejected that load. I don't care company driver or not I'm not taking loads anymore to NJ or NY they can fire me if they want.
