I live near that area too and I can tell anyone from experience that at that time of day in that freeway you had better be paying attention...290 is horrible to drive on especially during rush your...from what I saw in the video I watched he was driving a blue Columbia pulling an mt flatbed...I wonder if he was a locally based driver...regardless he's done driving...it's pathetic that that little boy had to lose his life because of an inattentive driver.

Condolences to the family.
They will probably put him under the jail.
Went past one like this in 2008 on the 465 in Indy, wall to wall traffic, don't know if there were any fatalities or not, but the same deal with the back pushed to the front. -
First must say my prayers goes out to the family. But must say seems more then radio if traffic was stopped ahead driver should have seen that in advance . I see it every day trucks come up on me and get close to me and last minute change lanes pass me and there on cell or lab top with feet on dash is that professional. To many things in the cab now to take our attention from the road and we just need to focus on what is around us rest can wait or we could be the next one having to live with a death. Yes I have texted while driving but rarely and only if clear road and front and no one behind.

I know Houston traffic is bad..but I know a place that's way worse than Houston....Puerto Rico...good grief...they make places like Chicago look great..
-
Well I have been outside Mexico City, and Colombia and Ecuador and all those countries have better roads minus the speed bumps. Traffic is a night mare in all.
