Your choice. You can wait until one becomes available or go out with a reefer guy. PSD and TnT are about learning how to safely maneuver a large commercial vehicle. You can get securement training with a flatbed guy running team for 30 days after you upgrade to A-seat.

Minimum time out per company policy is 3 weeks, and it is one day off for every week out. For company drivers of course, lease drivers stay out as long as they want.

I'll be starting orientation in June and I know this wont be an issue for awhile but a little peice of mind would be nice. Once I'm in my own truck, I will not have anywhere to park it when on home time. I live in Maryland and will be about 4-5 hours from my closest terminal which would be the Pittston, PA terminl. Will I be able to drop the truck off at the terminal for my hometime? And on that same note can I leave my POV at the terminal while I'm on the road so that I can get home for my hometime?

i am here now, there are people who have been here 3wks waiting on trainers. Also, make sure to get a tanker endorsement on your permit prior to arriving. The mod described the process to a T. Also keep your possessions right next to u, and i do mean right next to u. a guy had his $100 stolen from him while he was asleep. the next day, he didn't have money to pay the orientation fee and was sent home.

I'm here now also , should be leaving out sat if trainers truck gets a green light today. I started on the 14th. Trainers are looking for students daily, they also are given a list from Ms.Linda of students that need a trainer. I've seen guys from my class , everyday in the gym playing B-ball are relaxing at the campus inn. Only way they don't have a trainer yet is they are not answering there phone are avoiding everybody. I held out a few days waiting on a FB trainer but was told take a refer driver if you want to get going , so I did. Of corse this week there are now several FB trainers here looking for students, lol. Does take a little effort but not much. Just remember your not really here on vacation, it's for a job.
