Drove five hours and delivered my load. Then drove 75 miles to pickup my load that takes me home. Of course it's not ready yet, so I wait. As long as I make the live unload for tmrw morning no harm. If I don't...... I pity the fool!

man, ain't that the way it always seems to go.....LOL. I swear to God, I almost whipped a dude's arse one time when I was a company driver. Waited 6 hours for a load to take me home......ended up with 12 minutes left on my clock. Good luck, brother.....I'm headed to the house (the summer house in Hampton) myself.......got a live load in the morning, but plenty of time to get there.

My 2 cents worth you need to include your lost revenue along with fuel costs when deadheading that far. No matter what you do or how hard you work you can never get back the lost revenue. Just to establish some cred. I was on IC choice for 4 years and an ICA for 4 years before that. Fell down went boom this winter so off work for about 6 or 8 months. I loved it by the way. Good luck to you if I can do anything to help happy to do it.

My load was ready an hour early, so after grabbing it I drove three hours south towards the house. Got about 4 hours to go in the morning for my live unload at 11:30. Then to the house for five days.
At the Pilot, exit 278, I-5, Lost Hills, CA.....

Arrived in Mira Loma for my live unload after four hours of driving. After this I haul the empty to the S El Monte yard. Need to get my quarterly inspection done and get the AC looked at. Since they fixed my air bag on Monday my AC doesn't work! Connected?
The blue beast did great today coming up the grapevine for the first time. The grapevine is the Tejon Pass, climb from 1500 up to 4400 feet in about six miles. Got 32k lb in the box and I came up at 45 mph in 10th gear. In my company truck that would have taken 7th gear at 28 mph. Cool!
Once this live unload is done it's home time for five days. Coming back out next Wednesday with an awesome load that takes me right to SC. I have to be back in NY on the 9th to handle some more moving stuff.
My numbers this week were solid. I had $4600 in revenue. I spent $2300 in fuel. $650 of that fuel was so I would not have to buy fuel THIS week that I'm going home. My take home tmrw is about $1300, $650 light because of the extra fuel. But next Friday I will only have the $1100 deductions for truck payment and such, so I'll clear about $200 after taking five days at home. Home time cuts into your bottom line for sure!
Everybody stay safe..... Next posts will be from the house, I hope!
