400 watts.... that might charge your cell phone...lol
I have an 1800 watt and run my rice cooker and crock pot in order to have better food than truck stop crap. Plus I sleep with a cpap machine.
you know if I only had these slave traders to work for anymore I think I would just give it up and stay home.
the quality of life is non - existent with these people and they should be down right ashamed at how they treat their employees.

I am parked at the PETRO TS in Laramie WY,
I just saw a Gordon tractor pulling a Heartland
Trailer pull in here to park. If these are still
supposed to be seperate companies how can
they do that? -
Any company can pull any company's trailers if they have permission and everything in order.
-
This is true , but not just any company
just bought GTI. Why did Heartland
buy Gordon? Do they need the operating
authority? Nope. Did they need the
freight? Nope. Did they want the drivers?
Yep.... Why else is a Gordon pulling a
Heartland trailer? -
It is happening both ways.
GTI is pulling Heartland trailers. Heartland is pulling GTI trailers.
With regards to the trailers it is more about where the empty trailer happens to be and what trailer the shipper loads it on, etc.
With regards to why did Heartland combine with GTI, I think a lot of that ground has been covered already and I feel like we are sucking the air space from Joe and Tow's thread. But if they desire, I would be happy to give an explanation. I'm sure they won't because they are moved on and don't care, and don't care to hear about it!tow614 Thanks this. -
Heartland purchased gordon because gordon wanted to sell their company. They sold to heartland because heartland had the money to pay for it.
Now you can spin all the crap about wanting to have the best company and all of that but the truth is" money talks and bs walks". There were a lot of companies who would have loved to wrote Larry an iou for his company but he would have never gotten paid.
For what rumors are worth, there was one a couple of years ago that Larry had tried to retire and the sons immediately took steps to sell to swift but Larry stopped them and agreed to sell the company since they didnt want it but he would decide who to sell to. Heartland was his choice because they could pay him..plain and simple.
Hats off to heartland for being in the position to purchase gordon..for better or worse it is theirs now.
My advice for what it is worth would be to do what you are going to do quickly and dont drag it out. Make it one company and be done with it. Quit trying to pasify gti drivers who wont like the changes you might make. There are plenty of warm bodies out there to fill those seats so dont worry.joseph1135 Thanks this. -
I worked for Heartland for almost two years.
They have a very successful business that
exploits its drivers. If you think its ok thats
your opinion. I have mine. I wont say anymore
about this company since its not going to
change the way they operate anyway. If your
happy with them good for you. I wasnt.joseph1135 and tow614 Thank this. -
Yes but they are built in Mexico so maybe los lobos would be more to it's liking.vikingswen and joseph1135 Thank this.

Actually I think it is the freight. That's why they where crowing about the two companies being a good fit. Their freight lanes don't have a lot of overlap.
