I think you should ask yourself if you're the best judge of your "control"... by what "standard/s" are you measuring?
The better driver you become, the less confident you become.
The more you learn, the more you realize how much is left to learn, so as knowledge grows, so does the feeling of ignorance, so confidence suffers, and that's a good thing. It instills caution.
