Just wondering if there is a forum for log truck drivers? I see specific forums for flatbed, reefer, LTL, ect. but not for loggers. It be nice to talk to other drivers of the trade for advice and so forth. I have been driving a log truck for a few weeks now and it would be nice to talk to fellow drivers.

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

There's not enough of them on here to justify a separate forum. You can try using the search feature you might find a few threads or start your own thread and maybe they'll come out of the wood work.

What with the popularity of the reality shows I'm surprised we don't have separate forums for log trucks and for ice road truckers....

Do they use, umm, elogs?

Puppage Thanks this.

haven't seen any forums either, but there's a good logging specific job search site called FindaForestryJob. Am myself looking to get a job logging driving too. Any hints/tips you found useful, especially for under 1 yr experience new driver?

Hey I would like to see a Logg'in sub-form here.
I come from the part of the country where logging is the thing. Most driver jobs are with the wood industry.
One of the things I like when traveling the country is seeing what other places use for log, chip, and dump trucks. Huge difference in what is common.
Out here we are almost all stinger steer pole trailers with drop axle petes. 600hp and 18 speeds are common. A good portion of the rest of the country is hay racks or mule trains. An the south seems to run pole trailers with sleepers!
Most of the logging companies have poor SMS ratings because the trucks get beat to crap running off road. Pay can be good. Years ago it was all hourly. Now most pay 28%-38% of load. -
So are you in the Pacific NW?
I drive in the timber industry here in WA.
