I just finished trucking school on Friday. Taking my state test on Tuesday. I hopefully will pass it with no problem.

Now, I still haven't decided on a company. I am leaning toward H.O. Wolding. But I am looking at several others too. I have offers to attend orientation from several places. I have decided to go OTR or regional dry van. I have offers for reefer and flatbed companies too though. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a great company for new drivers, or tell me about some "not so great" companies that I should avoid. Just curious to hear some opinions. They would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I am single, no kids, and don't really care about home time at this point. Just want to find a good company to work for. Thanks for any help!

If you wanna stay out 3-4 weeks at a time, the money getting is good at Melton. Average length of haul is 1000 miles or more. All 48 states but it is flatbed. Good training. It's 3 weeks long and 1 on 1 where trainer sits beside you while you drive.

Go with a company that has APU's.

You say you're single with no children & home time isn't important, so why would you consider regional work? As Flatbedn posted, Melton Truck Lines runs coast-to-coast and their trucks have APU's.

With the reefer companies, HO Wolding does have a good reputation, so probably would be a good choice if you decide on reefers.

Navajo Express is coast-to-coast reefer and has APU's.
