I got my license in Dec 2011, then got called back to my previous employer from a layoff. Lost that job for good at the beginning of 2013. With no driving experience since getting my license, what would be the best companies to go to for my experience? I am interested in becoming an owner operator later. I'm from central California. Any advice is appreciated... Thanks

Knight has a training program that u could apply for. I have been a trainer with knight since June '13 . Our training is broken down into simple steps to make it an easier experience for u. Training pay is pretty good. It is also paid while the trainer may be on home time or in the shop. It is a 4-6 wk program or more if u think u need it. Go to knight trans.com and apply.

KKW Trucking in Pomona and Northern Refrigerated Transportation in Turlock might help you.

    Knight or Swift after those.

Do you have any truck stops nearby where you live? They have all these free publications, and many companies advertise... often, these ads will tell you how much experience they're looking for, and also hiring area... and if they don't, you just look them up on the Wide World of Interwitchcraft here, and their website will provide that information.
You didn't really give us a whole lot to go on, like what are you trying to get into, whether you want vans/reefers/flatbeds/etc.... stuff like that can help narrow it down some.

I hope you have some money saved. I didn't make much the first four months. Then it got better. I went to Texas and made more money after seven months. I know in Texas I can make good money. I just don't know about the northeast with a year and a speeding ticket.
