Lube for Rubber hood bumpers

    What do you guys use to lube these. I spray mine with white lithium grease then squirt a shot of lucus power steering stop leak on top. Doing this for years, works good.

    A guy I knew used a heavy set of wool socks over his. He said it worked great

    You can get silicone in paste form that is a lot less messy and can be used on door weatherstripping as well as any other similar seals. It eliminated a bizarre oink noise from my doors during strong, gusty crosswind. I guess you could also use it on your heavy wool socks to make them easier to get on.
