Big G Express. Consistent miles during the week and home every weekend. Dispatch is great and treats me with respect, never ask me to run illegal or in dangerous conditions. Never have to wait on a load, almost always pre-planned on the next one a day in advance. Employee owned which means free stock in the company earned each year, fully vested in just 4 yrs. Nice new equipment that is very well maintained. The cpm isn't the highest around, but I'm very happy here and that is worth a lot to me.
48Packard and Skydivedavec Thank this. -

I can name 4 of the top of my head. Lessors, Inc, Eagan, MN with terminals in Dover, FL, Caldwell, ID and satellite in Antiotch, TN. SouthEast Carriers, Lawrenceville, TN. Holland in Fargo, ND and Fairchild Freight out of Arizona with yards in Seattle and Anchorage, AK. All of them are talked about in our thread Joe & Tow's ex-GTI thread. All of us make good money, good miles and great equipment.

What works for one Mistah O.P will not work for another. Trucking-as in life-you have to find your own niche. If you're a follower, the view never changes..Don't get it? Look at a pack of Huskies pulling a sled.
I don't see it on this thread but be careful with who you ask the posted question. Many will just be gunning for a recruiting bonus. World we live in.. -
I have worked for big and small companies both. I hated being a number at the big companies and missing any real benefits when at the small companies. My suggestion is to find a mid-sized (150-ish) company that is big enough to offer benefits and still small enough to know you. But as someone else pointed out, it is a personal decision that will change over your career. It all depends on what you are looking for at that time. Myself, right now, it is decent pay... better benefits... and the best home time! Good luck in your search!
