YES---within the 1st mile you have an uphill BLIND curve to the left. The sign will tell you to sound your horn-its NOT wide enough for 2 trucks.
Then you have more desert roaming to do before you get to the plant which is a left turn near the top of grade.
Not a bad drive, really, worse part is the BLIND curve near the beginning.....

Been there. By the time they got me loaded, scaled, reworked, rescaled, etc., I was about 15min from being out of hours. No way was I going to be able to make it back down to the closest truck stop at Buttonwillow. Fortunately those turnouts on the way up to the plant make for excellent parking. They even have trash barrels. It turned out to be one of the most pleasant places I had ever spent the night. Extremely quiet. No traffic after dark. And the view looking out over the Valley was drop-dead gorgeous. This particular turnout is at 6:30 in the video that is a few posts up.
