Truckers Tablet

It's some guy up in Canada who buys really cheap tablets wholesale and then loads mostly free software onto them. I think he has a volume license for the mapping software, but last time I checked, his original tablet was not type accepted by the FCC.

You arent seriously insinuating that Asus is a generic manufacturer of tech components are you? They have been in the tech business for well over 20 years, they are also one of the biggest manufacturers of PC components and Laptops. Their Republic Of Gamers (ROG) laptops are some of the best performing, best built laptops made these days.

Sorry I wasn't clear, I know Asus is a major payer. I preferred their MB when I use to build my own PC's. That is also why I own a Nexus 7.

 

Ok whew! Gave me a heart attack. I was about to go nuts on that lol. I build all my PC's with Asus motherboards. My asus p8z68-v pro/gen3 is pushing my 2700k at 5.0ghz for 2.5 years straight now.

 

Thing is, some people don't need the latest, greatest to be satisfied with a device. If the thing is solid and just works when you turn it on, that's what counts. Why do you think Apple stuff is so popular? None of it is best in class. Technology for the sake of technology is ok, if that's what you're into. It's just not for everyone.

It's kind of funny watching you go at this topic like it's some kind of personal mission. It reminds me of the time my older cousin got the great idea to get our grandma on a computer. The benefits were undeniable. Except for the fact she really didn't care about all that. The computer just ended up pissing her off, and she was calling me for help instead of that stupid cousin that gave it to her. She would have gotten more use out of and been happier with some nice stationary, a good ink pen, and a book of stamps. In fact, I sent her that and made her entire month.

Now if the trucker's tablet is on a known faulty platform, or has some other fraudulent claim, have at it and I'll cheer you on.

 

RedForeman, what it boils down to is they are trying to front this Truckerstablet as a top of the line, high end tablet when in fact it has 3-4 year old tech. I can promise you that it will not perform nearly as good as todays tablets will. Android 4.4 does support devices down to 512mb of ram, that is true, but that is the bottom end on memory. It will be clunky and slow, and probably have lock ups. They arent even saying who the manufacturer of the tablet themselves is. One thing I wont do is buy a product unless I know who the manufacture is, because then you dont have a #### clue as to what your getting

 

My beef with them revolves around their shady business practices. Having your "buddy" post up an "independent review" of your product on Youtube and denying it when you get caught just makes you a douchebag.

Gunner75...ummm this does not have 512 mb of ram this has 1gb of ddr3 sram. this is also a dual core processor running at 1.3ghz which the nexus 7 is running 1.2ghz. Like i said i like it because it runs off the android 4.2.2 jelly bean and it is not just a rand mcnally or cobra gps unit. Dont like the rand since i have had 2 in 2 years and they both went dead. The cobra has some problems with it too so i am going to try this and see what it does. Heck if it turns out to be good i might even make a video touting the good and the bad of it. I also have a Tablet that my kids use right now and it has the 1.2 dual core processor with 1gb of ddr3 sram and it is fast. do you not know there is a difference between ddr sram and ddr3 sram?
