    I don't understand that. Monday's fuel wipes out a weeks work? Catastrophic breakdown yes, 70 gallons of diesel.. I am missing something.

    The issue here is that pumping 700 or more in fuel on Monday eats directly from your bottom line on Friday's pay. It also comes from not having enough revenue to cover fueling. In any case I work fuel on Monday like this. If I need fuel to run then I fuel. If not then I don't. I fueled on Sunday this week, that enabled me to run a load on Monday which also will pay out on Friday, bonus for me. The load I delivered last night was 1k straight into my pocket.

    That is gross revenue before any expense.

    I think this is more aimed at the guys who will not run and/or run their tanks bone dry because of which settlement the fuel will go on. I'll echo CW - it's about managing cash flow. Businesses have to plan for their account receivables. It's not this load, or this day's revenue, or even this week that matters. It's looking at the details AND the big picture.

    Made it to harrisonburg, va tonight. Nearly 700 on the odometer for today. A short 115 miles to delivery tomorrow.

    Serious rain and lightening the last 2 hours, very difficult to see the fog lines. I think Virginia needs to invest in some fresh paint and reflectors.

    Off to bed, gonna let the rain sing me a lullaby.
