    Hello,

Been studying the pre-trip. I notice on the DMV test sheet it says we can have no more than 12 errors overall. Anyone know how many items we can miss on pre trip? I know COLA you cannot miss any. Thanks!

I tell my students to find a flow that works for them and practice it the same way every time. Another suggestion is to talk about things in groups i.e. all steering components, all suspension parts, all brake parts, etc.

practice and some more practice. Do what works for you. Try not to stress yourself out when the DMV dude is following you around your truck.

    Yeah.

Someone told me this and it really helped the nerves: Imagine the DMV examiner doesn't know anything (usually the case anyways;)) and you are teaching them how to do a pre-trip.

It works. I just passed on Saturday. I am assuming each state is similar. its all separate sections. engine fluids, steering, front suspension, side, rear of tractor, coupling....etc.
Learn what each part does then its easier to remember. At least it helped me. Oh and dont add a bunch of crap. One student in our class was reminded "your not the mechanic" Also get in early and stay late and do it over and over with your sheet.
    Good Luck
