What to do if there is a strike?

When there is a strike..I help out with the strike and go fishing

 

Plan some hometime, now.

I wouldn't really be concerned with it. What little there has been on this topic, has been mild. No serious concerns about personal safety, yet.

Trust me, when it gets really bad. You won't have to ask anyone what to do. Nor, will you be concerned about "Mr. Swifts" opinion and/or truck.

I wasn't old enough to be "in" the strike of the 70's. But, I have family members that were. I can well remember them coming home with HUGE signs on their trucks, saying they were going to the house...empty.

Even that didn't help in some instances.

 

Just keep on working because there won't be any strike.Didn't you know it already happened on Apr.1st...or did you just miss it like everyone else.

 

I was on my way to Mn on the first. did not see one truck truck shut down so you could tell they were on strike. Its sad! You would think that we would have more than enough reason to show our displeasure, but I guess not. I wonder what it will take? I'm not a o/o, just a company driver for a very small company. But We feel the chrunch like everyone else if not more. I wish There was a way to do it without bankrupting the Boss? He's out here too!!!

 

What it is going to come down too is when will it cost more to opperate the truck then it is bringing in. I am still laid off, thankfully. I obviously pull a bucket and the work just hasn't come back in my area yet. But even if it was back, I would barely break even to run right now. That's why I support the idea of a strike. I've heard rumblings of another one coming up on may 1st through the 5th. If it happens, and I am back to work, it would be more benneficial for me to go ahead and park the truck, and do "my part". I whole heartedly support every single driver who participates in the strike. And if you are a company driver, I support you even more, because I know all about the b.s. that the companies are throwing around to threaten their drivers. You would think that they would apreciate a break on fuel costs too. I know that co. drivers have issues all their own with cut throat mileage pay and a lack of hometime, etc. Whatever your personal reasons, if you support an effort to better all of our situations, then I support you.
