that pack running stuff actually makes me nervous and stress laden.I am unable to drive cooped up like that so i do not and i have been known to step out in the high dollar 3rd lane to get around it.too frequently actually.

it seems that regardless of your driving speed, another driver or twenty will have an issue with it so i just get rolling and whatever i feel comfortable doing traffic and cop wise,i go with it.I do try to keep it in the right lane but i sure have to get in the left lanes all too often.by the time most slow drivers in the left lane do look in the mirror and grasp,as if they really care anyway, that faster traffic is approaching, they can't/won't get over so i do,whether their right or my left or i back off w/o tailgating until they do,that way they can just continue whatever they do as they homestead and i do not get stressed over them clogging things up. by the time most put their blinker(why bother at that point?) on i am past them. Those are the penalheads.

basically, drive at your speed whether 7,8,or 10 over and within reason and safe to do so and don't worry about it.you'll get to know the areas that you can let it go in and those that you can not.some you simply can not due to the heavy traffic or the heavy patrols by the law.5 under is max if that is all that is possible.too many variables.
never zig zag in and out and stay as far right as you can because the hammer lane is generally the one that leo's shoot. on 2 lanes i stay right at the speed limit because they are what they are-a 2 lane.my last few tickets were on 2 lanes and i got what i deserved even though one sheriff lowered it to below 15 over to keep it off my license.sc dot got me for a radar detector and expired trl tag but not speeding, as i wasn't, on a 2 lane.he was cool about and said that i just happened to pass the only dot on that side of the state w/a detector detector.that was a pleasant experience all things considered as he was an alright dude as most seem to be.

2 lanes are just not where one needs to make up for lost time.

but anyway, hopefully you get the idea.

Depends on the state, the weather, the location and traffic. Wyoming will generally allow 3 to 5, Colorado will allow 4 wheelers up to 8, trucks 2 or 3 depending on whether or not the trooper got laid the night before. Kansas and Nebraska seem to vary, but 3 to 5 is a safe number.

There's a difference between speeding and reckless driving . I never had a problem putting the hammer down out on the open highway as long as there was no traffic and the road conditions were good. Going through the city I always slowed down and mostly did the speed limit. The fact is we are human and on the road miles equal money. So if you aren't a truck stop trucker and you can put some time behind the wheel, you can put in some good miles with a faster truck. Also you don't get so bored with an ungoverned truck. Doing 64 all day long gets so boring and makes me tired!

Most trucks cant run 15 over in Ohio, at least on the interstates anyway, since they raised their speed to 70

You're exactly right and too when them 4 wheelers get to texting, I don't want to be anywhere around them when they mess up. I have always tried to stay by myself and always will as long as I drive one, even if I have to speed a little to do it. You get by yourself, the only one you have to worry about is you. No stress, No cutting in and out Ill tell you what gets me, they talk about speed is so bad but when you watch those training videos what trucks is mostly involved in the wrecks they show? The governed trucks! How often do you see a large car laying on its side in the median? Im trying to remember when the last one I saw was?? I did see a big ole peterbuilt laid over on 285 over in Atlanta back when 285 was a 2 lane?

Exactly! Get the load where its going, get it unloaded, don't waste your time in truckstops in between- Keep the left door closed and get another one

I think texas has 75 mph speed limit. I wouldn't recommend going that fast. It's gonna kill more mpg.

Im confused? Is it a governed truck or the fact you cant "blow the doors off them 4wheelers" that bores you? Doing 75 in a 70 dosent make my drive more exciting. Its just moving a little faster,

I-80 in Nevada west of Fernley is 75. I run 70 cause that's all my truck will do. When I'm running in California I'll run 5 over. When passing I'll run 10 over until I'm passed. What it comes down to, not to echo previous posts, is it just depends on the mood of the trooper. I've been passed by LEO's running 10 over and I've been ticketed for running 5 over. I always carry donuts with me just in case! They seem to prefer jelly donuts, FYI.
