LOL!!!
Well, at least you know there's posabilties when the time comes. I talked with a couple "flyers" drivers at the CFN at the tank farm on Nugget in between Pyramid and McCarran. They seemed to like it and recommended them. SOOO, checkem' out when your ready
Cecil just came up here in late December. Don't really know much about there Arizona operations other than most of the guys were friendly and helpful (at least to me) when I was runnin' down there on TDY.KF7WTV Thanks this. -

I know this doesn't really have a whole lot to do with this particular thread (it does but at the same time it doesn't): all right, well I passed all of my endorsement tests and I am sitting here filling out my hazardous materials paper work and it asked me if I am applying for "hazmat, or combination of hazmat and tanker"? I was wondering what the difference was between the 2 (if any)? I have both hazmat and tanker endorsements. I'm not entirely sure what type of hauling I will be doing. Anyway, if I put combination of hazmat and tanker can I still haul hazmat on a flatbed, van, reefer, etc? Thanks!

Ok,
the problem is, you have to be able to speak governmenteze. It's all about "designation".
Now I'm in Nevada, But I'm pretty sure this is across ALL states.
Say you wanted to pull tankers, but NOT get into Hazmat. The "designation" on your CDL would be "N".
But let's say you wanted to get into Hazmat, but NOT pull tankers. Then the "designation on your CDL would be "H".
But if you want to do BOTH, takeaway the "N" and the "H" and they combine it with an "X".
See how simple that is??? -

Your better off to have both, for the simple fact it opens more doors and you only have to pay once. Whether you use them or not.
And it only matters if you want to do one but not the other.HauntedSchizo19 Thanks this. -
I had a question of pulling tankers. Some of the local jobs that I'm looking to get after I get some experience say they want 1 year of tanker experience. I pull a flatbed, will they not even look at me if I've never pulled a tanker? I live in shreveport and seeing what will be available to me after I get experience. Liked the idea of pulling for pilot travel centers but they say they want one year of tanker experience. Is that rule not bendable?
