Simple solution...haul steel (coils, bar, and plate). Of course, screwing up with a steel load will get you killed right quick, but that's true with any other load.

So......how many people have fallen there......and in this line of work why don't you have your own ladder?

I haul some hay out of Kansas sometimes and we tarp that. It's always 13'6" high usually about dusk and the wind is always blowing out there... I use my chains a lot in the windy side. It's a good tip.

Not sure if Anyone has fallen.....Im Sure it will happen in unsafe situations..and Also Smarty Pants, I Dont carry a Ladder becuase #1.A 16' Ladder is impractical to carry on a truck..
and #2..Most Law abiing Shippers have tarping stations...Which is REQUIRED by OSHA and other safety minded organizations

Just tell em to shrink wrap your load before they load you. When they look at you sideways you can say, makes as much sense as me trying to tarp that spider on the trailler without a station.

If you have to crawl, crawl.
If you fall and get hurt the jerks who laugh at you won't pay your bills.

You also have to worry about stepping into a void under the tarp, when you're spreading it or adjusting it.

Eventually you'll get used to it, but there is no reason to get macho about it.

There are a LOT of outlaw places then..Wondering-how long flatbedding? Anyway a ladder is standard equipment(IMO) and I have one which folds to (I think) 4ft and I used it to get on a full load of lumber in Chester,CA just the other day. Picked it up at Home Depot I believe. Or was it Menards?

They sell some real nice folding ladders which work great for lumber loads. I used to haul out of there a LOT....hence a little sarcasm. Don'tcha love the road in there?? LOL

Un-knot your knickers......I'm not picking on YOU.......I just have had a belly full of the "we need a perfect scenario to work in" crowd. It's FLATBEDDIN' for cryin' out loud!!!
