Carrier bounced check

    In addition to the above, go to the local General Sessions court and file a Sworn Affidavit for the debt you are owed and include copies of your lease contract and BOLs for proof. Check online if you need help to get an example of an affidavit you can use. Screw the lawyer, this part is easy enough to do yourself. Lawyers just take your money and do nothing unless you have deep pockets.

    You will need to get the Affidavit notarized before you file it with the court clerk. Don't forget to mail copies of the court clerk stamped affidavit to the defendant.

    The sooner the better! It may be months until you go before the judge the first time.

    I would say, consult an attorney. Im afraid you will find out they were in their legal rights to stop payment on the check, since you still have their equipment. At any rate, a lawyer is probably what you need at this point.
