That is one type of the EOBR. Some of the others may not have that ability, so the advice is still good.joseph1135 Thanks this.

was audited by the irs, gave them a copy of my E-logs for the year he looked at them for about two minutes and said looks good to me. found a error in my taxes helped me with the amended return and a $800 came to me in about 2 months. was all the worry and sweating for two months worth the money no,try and keep out of the irs office.
paul_4lp Thanks this. -
I don't see how or why the irs needs to see your elogs within an audit situation. Elogs prove nothing except the fact you're a trucker working full time. The fact he looked at them for a few minutes answers the question, and speaks volumes. My CPA has never asked for them, and if he thought they were important then he would request them, by now.
Sure, the IRS could ask for anything but asking for elogs is, to me a bit of a stretch.
But whatever floats your boat. -
Very easy. They use them to verify the per diem for days out.drvrtech77 and GITRDUN45 Thank this. -
EXACTLY!! I was told to keep mine up to 7 years.
-
Whatever you say. I'll stick to my story and let my CPA. Unlike you lot, I pay him to take care of that.
Not ask that question on this forum, because non of you are tax experts and if you were, you wouldn't be driving a truck. But don't take offense.. My money, my taxes.
I can just see it now. You give the tax man a huge pile of logs and you're gonna tell me he's going to scrutinize very little issue and calculation pertaining to " per diem" boy, those IRS men haven't got anything better to do have they. That's assuming he can read those logs in the first place LOL.
But yes, please keep up the good work and keep them for 7yrs. I'm sure they will come in handy eventually.,
