I had this truck with a gray steering wheel and no matter what I used,I could not get it clean.I would still get this chalky putrid gray stuff on my hands.I started wearing gloves.

I like hearing all these useful tips. I finally got a wheel cover, shiny plastic, cleans up quick and easy. My favorite is household ammonia, 50/50 in water, the clear white, not the lemon flavor. Tastes awful, but it sure cleans fingerprints, oil and grease, quickly, no film, and it's affordable. Try it, you might like it. I avoid all those cleaning products above, but I do use 409 once in a while when the rest area is closed and my hands need some work.

Steering wheel cover once the protective film has worn off. I got one, kind of a pain but it's clean.
