if you were a tax expert, you wouldnt be driving a truck?

never have i met people who have such disdain for a career they willingly chose

i chose to drive a truck and there are many other things i have done and could have done

i do not look at this as some deadend job (there are thousands of office jobs that are deadend jobs) and this industry (i believe) is one true industry where you can make of it whatever you want, without having to get down and dirty

yes, if they audit you, they have the right to go thru every piece of paper to verify what you are claiming

and how far they go is totally dependent upon the auditor (just like there are different Level 1 inspections depending on the barney)

Whatever floats your boat there Mr. 17 years I bet you know it all so I'll start listening to you. If I have any problems I'll tell them look for Mr. Knowitall in Texas. Thanks for you opinion.

you beat me to it, apparently the guy you replied doesn't ever claim her per diem allowance per his logs or just makes up a number.

here is what the irs man told me on my visit. if you have us audit your logs which we will not do, will send them to a audit firm, if there is a error you will be paying no errors they pay. the irs agent makes the decision on the first visit if there are errors did you make a honest mistake or did you on purpose make a mistake. there have been some post that say this and that until you are sitting in the office that is where you will find out how it really is. and i for one did not really like sitting there. so be careful how and who does your taxes

When they did my audit, the auditor examined them only for the location each day for per diem. They do not review any logs for accuracy.

I work less hours for free as a truck driver than I did as middle management in the tax business.

The sun also shines in my world now.

roadmedic did not say that very well. they will audit your logs for the purpose of per diem, not for hours of service violations. had a few buds lites with my buddies and not thinking very well. have a good day
