A customer brought a 2009 prostar into the shop where I work after a trip to the Int dealer. Complaint was loss of power. Dealer told him the egr cooler was leaking and he needed to change it. Our labor rate is lower so he wanted us to do the job. I am not too familiar with this engine, but I changed out the cooler. During the job I checked both turbo's and noticed the top high pressure one was binding up. I ended up changing that out as well. I just fired up the engine, and there is major blowby. Oil spits out of the dipstick tube, and splatters out of the oil fill. Could be some steam, but oil looks ok. Oil level is good. I used a vacuum to be sure the cooling system had no air, and all seems well in that area. I pulled the airline off the compressor and that made no difference. I did not check this engine out before I started working on it, so I was hoping I did not cause any problems. Not being familiar with this engine, I was hoping someone with experience could give me some advice before I go any further. It runs good, and does not get hot. Oil pressure is good. Any advice would be appreciated.
