Im all right htq just has been a really bad day. And now I picked up a trailer at coke in dallas and it has a bad break chamber. So im sitting in the shop at the ta in Denton and they are about to send over that there is definitely a leak on the trailer. Im not sure what breakdown pay is or if I even ever get it. And I think I am cut out for this job just maybe not this company. I have friends at other places that say they get there loads and always have time or extra. I always get a late load and then barely enough time to get there and things like this break canster put me behind and then they want to blame me for being late. Im just had it and today I was so sick. Id just love to come on here one day and not be complaining. I consider myself to be a nice person always happy and always with a smile and now im rude and mean and I seldom smile anymore.

I'm sorry, krazyhorsechick. I know you are trying to do the best job that you can and worry when they give you tight schedules. You can only do the possible, if they give you loads that you can not possibly meet delivery on that is their worry not yours. All you have to do is your best and drive safely. Try not to worry too much about the rest, it will all fall into place. Get your experience and finish your lease if you can. Learn to take care of yourself along the way ...you will be a better driver for it. My guess is that you have only been taking care of yourself when it is absolutely necessary....the truth is that it is necessary everyday. You have to eat and be well rested in order to cope with the stresses of this job.

I'm glad to see some conversation going on tonight.....I was wracking my brain trying to think of things to threaten you all with. I have already said nice things about Dana, threatened to say nice things about Luke, blasted you all with industry articles.....I was running out of ideas.....well, maybe not, but didn't want to do anything really drastic!

go mow your lawn you cant live vicariously thru our adventures

and KHC if your comparing other drivers with yourself
are they brand new like you also or more experience
i found that after 6 months the timeline never seemed as tight as it was at first
then i realized it was me that I had learned to do the job better
transam dispatches loads at 52 mph so without breakdowns most loads should have adequate timekrazyhorsechick, .honeybadger. and Panhandle flash Thank this. -
Pete hit the nail on the head. My first couple months it seemed like everything was late no matter how much I scrambled. Nowadays it's fairly easy. Those first couple months are overwhelming and by far the hardest! But it does get easier as you learn the routine and shortcuts and other ways to make your life easy.
As far as breakdown, it covers one day of you truck payment ((about $85)) for every full 24 hour period you are unable to drive due to being at the maintenance facility or being generally broken down. Unfortunately there are no payouts for trailer repairs that eat up most of your 14 and cause you to pretty much lose the whole day.pattyj Thanks this. -
I got the town wrong, not Remington, he's heading to Wilmingtom, CA

Hmmmph ......didn't know I had to state the obvious, new driver, training company ....they will take care of scheduling and swap the load if it is critical. Just give yourself time to learn and schedules are easier to meet. In the mean time don't become so stressed that you make yourself ill.
Already mowed 5 acres, baked brownies, did laundry, taught school and did some research on some upcoming legislation in the trucking industry.
Even a Queen needs a little appreciation every once in awhile.
