Can try calling dmv in utah and ask questions.. Actually getting a person.. and one that knows what to do may not happen.. so if all else fails.. go to dmv and ask .. each state is different on requirements tho in the end or once all is final you will need to surrender/turn your current cdl and possibly pay transfer .. its not a big deal.. if you need to take tests there are plenty of practice tests online to study with if needed....

Each state is different. IL is the booger one. UT you have to pass the written and eye test. No road test. $40 plus $7 for each endorsement. You need your CDL, I would also take my birth certificate just in case along with your SS card. You also need two proofs of residency like a utility bill, lease or mortgage agreement.... There's a pdf list on their website.

You are not kidding about IL after 18 yr with a clean license they told me I had to retest all of it like I was a newbie.

If you have HazMat be prepared to take that over if you want to keep that endorsement. This is after the state you got it in provides proof of the date the background check was done.

Geez i didnt have to do all that if it was wanted the only test was a hazmat endorsment.. paid a fee gave them my out pf state cdl and a plastic temp was issued at the counter on the spot..
