My last 12.7L S60 complete inframe overhaul was $19,000....this included a rebuilt head, air to air and a new turbo (all genuine Detroit parts from a Detroit dealership). I cannot remember if this included injectors or not...........????.....I think it did. Engine had 600,000 miles and was overheated going up a hill causing the cylinders to be scored badly. I bought it that way (I was not the driver).
My only observations about an S60 is how many more parts and pieces they have internally over an N14 or 3406. It is amazing that they do not break down more often. Seriously......a 12.7 S60 must have at least 30% more parts and pieces. This defys the law about the simpler it is.....the less often it breaks. Crazy huh?

Yes there were 2 or 3 years when both 12.7 and 14 were offered then when EGR came the 12.7 was dropped and the 12.8 L MBE4000 took the place of the 12.7.

They never marketed that engine much. It was way more expensive than a 12.7 but it was that much more engine too. Funny that guy mentioned about it not existing. I had to show two guys I hauled steel with the stickers on the valve cover before they would believe it. It was available from about 2000-2003. I went to several dealers for warranty work and they had never seen one of them either. They were rare. It was like a competitor for the 600 Cat back in the HP wars but looking at what it put to the wheels it was probably a little better than 600 flywheel with the program they had in it.

That's exactly right. A friend of nine had one and it blew the doors off my 12.7L pulling tridems in BC.

They might not be No. 1 in 2014. Harrison Truck is repositioning themselves to out do Fitz in the volume of gliders being built. They already are right on Fitz's heals.

What could be cooler than a B model in the CAT house of an '84 Pete?
I would upgrade the B to an industrial spec. Sift through the posts on TDG forum. -
I'm wanting to replace my ddec3 with a ddec2. The reason is my 3 blew up and the 2 is a sweet running low mileage engine. I would like to retain the ddec2 ecm. Does anyone know what mods I will need to make to the vehicle wiring harness? Any and all info appreciated.

I love this. This is exactly what I've been looking for. Keep the engine wars up, I need all the info on these three I can get.

There are a very select few that are pre emmission, most of the 14 have egr, but no dpf.

What's worse, egr or dpf?
