The hose can jump like its having a seizure...but im not taking it a loose until after I have bled all the pressure off the tank and then ill plug or cap the hose and walk it to the customer an cap or plug the other end and slide the dirty hose in the hose tube...if its any product off it will be dropping in the bucket...then i take my fittings off and rinse them with water...lol I know it sounds like im scary but im new to the tank world

Bleeding pressure and making a mess are 2 completely different things. You don't bleed pressure into the consignee's tank. That is asking for trouble.
-
I never had a problem. ..glad you told me though...why would it cause trouble?
-
Mainly it causes problems when it's a bottom feeder. Air hits the bottom and pushes a huge air bubble to the top. Top feeders don't have this problem as bad. You can blow air onto a customer tank all day as long as the conditions are right. The tank can't be too full and the product can't foam. The best bet is just to listen to what the unloader says, he does this everyday. As far as running your compressor five minutes after empty I have to question why you are doing this as it accomplishes nothing. I shut down my compressor when I am getting close to finishing. The less air in the trailer means less time waiting for it to blow off. I want to check heel and roll as quickly as possible.

Thats the way my dad and trainer has allways done...they leave they pump on 10 after..never understood it either but they never got in trouble. ..so I just done what I was taught

What's to train?? Just watch your fittings....99% are 3" BSP not NPT. Look above the threads and you will see the bossed letters on the thread plate. Emergency cable on the side for foot valve has to work, part of the pre trip. Most plants will not load you if it's broke.
Plants like to get 50k in them. Very expensive to ship and ports will accept 60k gross tank. Watch for pre loads. good place to get pinched. I pre load them for line guys, plants fight me on tare weights and gross weights all the time.
IMDG placards are no good!! Only good from port to first inland destination. Own this ! Bears do ! You can't p/u a IMDG load off yard and haul it further inland on import placard.....he'll nail you and mty your wallet, with pleasure. ( BOL must show port and final dest. Log must match. ) No arguments from dispatch allowed. It's your fine , not his.
Don't get excited bout these either, they are cheap. Not worth much effort. Your not losing very much if you leave one sit.
One more thing...they are generally heavy on the tail ........ that's why you see most guys pulling them on a spread axle. Don't carry a load on a 20", a 25 slider or a 40 tandem. ( Tandem ok for 60k gross )
Good luck....Last edited: May 9, 2014
