Well at this point, I'm not sure if it's because of my past SFs with SWIFT or just what but I can't seem to ever talk to the recruiter in charge of my application with PRIME so I've moved my career search on to other companies. In a different thread here at TTR, I explained a bit more about what happened with me at SWIFT and the people responding on that thread have led me to believe that being termed for SFs will make it almost impossible to get on with a good company. They listed a few companies to look into but I believe their responses where more so geared to my comment about not really wanting to run out west too often. I got sick in Denver twice and the second time, the doctor told me that due to me having sickle cell, it would be wise if I didn't come back. Little did I know that some of the places that I actually enjoyed running was actually higher in elevation than Denver. It is my belief now that I got sick in Denver only because of the fact that I was smoking and being over active. Whatever the case, I'm in need of more trucking options now. Millis Transfer was suggested to me and I have submitted an application but I want to put in as many as I can tonight to increase my chances of actually starting training by the end of the month. Can anyone suggest other companies to look into? I want to be in this industry until I reach retirement age and I'd like to start repairing my trucking career reputation now so that when I am older, I can have the pick of the litter in trucking companies. I'm just 27 now.

My overall goal is O/O but I don't want to get there until I've spent enough time in the industry to really know all of the ins and outs of the business. Therefore, now I'm looking for a company that offers CDL training and acquisition, has good equipment (I'd prefer apu or tri-pac on truck), and friendly DMs that I won't have to fight in order to get home. I would like a company that I wouldn't mind being with for an extended period of time (3-5 years). Then I'll look for a company from which I can lease from and do the L/O thing for a while before buying a truck that I can own and have until retirement. Does this sound wise or too lofty or just not well thought through or what? Like am I wanting too much too soon or what? I don't mean to sound desperate or needy or anything but I really really REALLY want back in. I miss driving across the country and quite frankly, non-truckers are just idiots out here in the rest of the world. I haven't been comfortable out here since leaving the industry.

    Shaggy Thanks this.

I'm the wrong person to answer many of your questions. Seem like a sincere fella. Post around in different sections. maybe mills is your only option for a bit of time and work your way up or get a really good heads up about a job from a TTR member in your area.

Who cares who the past employer is. Swift or Joe's traveling circus show pulling around the 1,500 pound bearded lady in a Conestoga lol

HAHAHAA Retirement: brother, we are close in age, We aren't getting a pension from any trucking company in 20-30 years. A severance package yes, It's still fun to pretend and do the jobs :biggrin_25520:

Have a clean background / license?
