honestly, the best thing that you can do at this point, imo,is just personally drive to whatever trucking company close enough by you to justify doing so and fill out apps.amazing what showing up in person can do.

oh yeah.be prepared as in have current copies of your mvr and phone numbers/addresses, etc. and it will happen for you.obviously you'll have to train(or see if your cdl can be reinstated?) and all but you can get it done if you truly desire to do so.

    best of luck.

Yeah it would have been a simple fix but because I knew I was termed for the SFs I was scared to try again. I thought that if I give it some time, I may be able to come back into the industry with some company. But to answer your question, no I'm not an illegal. I was born in Chicago and raised in Mississippi. Never been outside the US.

Finally someone giving me advice rather than questioning what happened in the past. I admitted already that I was a young and immature driver back then. Since then, I've grown up a bit more and some how got some common sense. It's amazing how children can open your eyes to some of your foolishness. I take responsibility for my past SFs. I need to know if they will prevent me from ever driving again or if I'm stuck driving for not-so-good companies until I get a better track record?

Good luck.. you might try millis or roehl..possibly Paschall truck lines.. if you can get your cdl I know paschall will hire you and let you run east of the Mississippi River.

Millis Transfer is probably your best bet for CDL training and a job. They run Eastern half of USA.

The Swift problem had nothing to do with illegals.
The problem was, Swift driving instructors at the Millington, TN Swift Academy, were classified as 3rd party testers for the DMV. They were caught signing off on the skills test instead of actually having students pass a skills test. They did this to save time and get more students pushed through the academy. The new drivers that TN CDL's had their license revoked until they passed a skills test. The new drivers that had already gone back to their home state and changed their CDL from a TN license to their home state license weren't affected.

I would write a letter to Swift and tell them that you are considering legal action against them for having your CDL pulled. They should be forced to allow you to retake their classes. You provide a service for them and they were contracted to get you your CDL. I would sue them in Small Claims court and seek $5000 damages. Should be an easy win.

Class action lawsuit was filed and Swift lost. It's on Google.

I always wondered if I had legal grounds but being a young kid at the time, I didn't put much thought into it. I was more heart-broken that I lost a job I actually loved and enjoyed due to my own lack of common sense. It was a wake up call and forced me to pay closer attention to what I do. I wish I had known about the class action suit because I really could have used the money.
