Im taking my driving test tommorow and have worries about paralell parking because I may not be in the same truck and trailer that I practiced in. And we used certain marks on trailer to know when to turn. Any advice?

Can you practice some more today?Hows your backing overall?I had parallel during school but when it came to testing out it was straight line and alley dock.Don't know why they teach that.Chances are you'll very rarely have to parallel park. Why don't you ask your school what trk and trl you'll be in tomorrow for the test.
Ut2k4angel Thanks this. -
The first thing you have to do is get rid of the term parallel parking. As a new driver we all have nightmares about parallel parking. It is left over from our teenage years of drivers ed. What do you do when you parallel park? You move the truck and trailer over on truck width to the left or right. Period. Will you ever have to parallel park in the real world? Rarely. Will you ever have to move the truck one space over? Often.
Image you pull into a door. Number 37. And they come out and ask you to move into door 38. The way you do that is exactly the parallel parking maneuver. You pull straight forward and then angle the back of the trailer toward the far side of the dock and then swing the tractor to line the trailer straight into the dock.
Would you be afraid of the maneuver if they called it the move the trailer to the dock next to the one it is in maneuver. Just relax. If I, a short, fat man pushing 60, with limited intelligence, who has been fired by all the good companies out there, can do this maneuver, you can.

Im not afraid of paralell parking I do it like a champ in a regular vehicle, im just not confident in the way they taught us cause I got a different result every time.

I drive, straight line back, alley dock very well, im just not confident in the method they used to teach us. They made us rely on markers on the equipment instead of using senses and judgement. In all acutuality the only part of the procedure I have qualms with is assuring that I get into a forty five degree angle, after that im fine. On the trailer I knew once I could see the pig tail fully I was at the right angle, but not all trailers have their lines in the same place. I dont know...I guess just wish me luck!

Good luck on the test.
